Thursday night’s VIP Opening Night Preview Party drew a lively crowd, offering attendees the privilege of getting a first look at all the amazing art. Wine flowed, hors d’oeuvres were nibbled, and conversation ensued as showgoers watched live art demonstrations and made their way through booth after booth of innovative art.

Crowds enjoyed complimentary wine and art from over 40 exhibiting galleries on the opening night of the show.

Outside in the ever-sunny Coachella Valley weather, attendees enjoyed surveying the striking pieces on display in the Scupture Garden, while VIP guests mingled in the swank UBS Lounge, provided by the show’s presenting sponsor, UBS Financial Services.

Several exhibitors sold their work, including Kelly Fischer of Contemporary Art Projects USA, who painted an original during the evening and then sold that very piece! Other artists and galleries who made sales: JD Shultz, Elizabeth Dunlop, Chris Dellorco, Deborah Paswaters, Jim Keller, and Charlotte Jackson Fine Art, just to name a few. Shultz remarked about Thursday’s opening, “Last night went well! I met some great people and made a few new collectors. People have been receiving my art really well; this looks like a very promising event.”

We hope that trend continues … good luck to all our exhibitors on making priceless connections over the next couple of days, and thank you to all of our attendees for making the opening a success!
