Spectrum Indian Wells: Know Before You Go

Believe it or not, the second annual Spectrum Indian Wells is kicking off tomorrow evening at the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort & Spa, and you’re invited! This year’s show, with presenting sponsor UBS Financial Services, will feature four incredible days of art, unique programming, special events, and more – think you’re ready to dive in? Here’s what you need to know before you go:

Opening Night is a Can’t-Miss – If you’ve ever been to one of our shows, you know that this is practically a rule of thumb. Our opening night guests get an exclusive first look at the art, with plenty of opportunities to mix and mingle with the artists (not to mention, we keep the wine flowing). We are especially excited to share that this event will benefit the Desert AIDS Project, an organization that has been the Coachella Valley resource for those living with, affected by, or at risk for HIV or AIDS since 1984.

You Can Take it to the Polls – In 2016, Redwood Media Group and Art Brand Studios launched the [PLATFORM] Artist of the Year Awards, a contest designed to empower artists and introduce their work to the world. Guests of Spectrum Indian Wells will have the opportunity to view the work of the Top 10 Finalists, including winner Kevin Grass (who will be in attendance), and vote on their favorite! Votes will be tabulated and the Popular Vote winner will be announced at Artexpo New York in April.

Saturday is Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert Day – That’s right! Bigs will be bringing their Littles to the show to check out a “meet the artist” event, including lunch and an art session with the exhibiting artists, and the fun doesn’t stop there. Later in the evening, Spectrum Indian Wells will host a reception for the Bigs in which they can socialize, sip on a glass of wine, and meet an international slate of artists and gallerists.

There Are Countless Opportunities to Learn – It’s almost impossible to leave an art show without a few new tricks, insights, or ideas up your sleeve, and Spectrum Indian Wells will be no exception. Check out our show schedule to map out opportunities to meet with individual artists, watch live demonstrations, and sit in on various Art Talks!

It Pays to be Social – Spectrum Indian Wells will be sharing updates, announcements, event recaps, photos, and so much more on social media all weekend long! Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay in-the-know, and share your photos and videos with us for a chance to be reposted! By the way, the official show hashtag is #SpectrumIndianWells – don’t be shy!

Excited yet? So are we! For tickets, show hours, a parking map, and more, go here. If you have other questions, please leave us a comment or tweet us at @IndianWellsArt. See you soon!
